to the genius behind the WASHABLE crayon...
The girls are really into coloring lately... Makena is trying to stay in the lines and Chloe just loves to scribble. With that being said, I have found art on my walls, dining chairs and sliding glass door... so far
So again, thank you Mr. or Mrs. genius washable crayon inventor... I really appreciate your kind gesture....

Inspiration from a Foodie..
Do you have a friend that inspires you everytime you chit chat? I have many and for all reasons you can imagine ..but tonight I want to talk about Lara..
Lara is the Foodie of all Foodies and inspires me greatly everytime we chat... ecspecially about food! She cooks EVERYTHING from scratch, I mean she makes her own pizza dough, bakes her own fishsticks with her own breadcrumbs made from Trader Joe's O'S and other goodies I won't tell..I remember the first time we went to her house for dinner and she made these gourmet chicken enchiladas, saffron rice (I didn't know what saffron was either but I am addicted now, it's an herb) and refried beans.. and YES even the beans.
So we are chatting about dinners and the kids and what they eat (her kids eat everything by the way, kale soup is what really got me) and she goes on about this macadamian nut crusted salmon she made with some shrimp wild rice for Easter and as I am drooling on myself, dreaming of her cooking for just me... I hear something about pesto and I think Ohh! Pesto I can do.. what about pesto? sundried tomatoes? but I don't have pine nuts? easy? put it on what??
So here is my inspiration from Foodie Lara (please Lara start a food blog and call it that)..
it's sundried tomato pesto.. and it was

I don't wanna grow up..
Today Makena and I were discussing when she goes to Kindergarten next year and all the new friends she'll make. We started to talk about after Kindergarten, 1st grade, 2nd grade, 3rd grade and so on. I told her she will go to college then she'll be a big girl and go to work and I asked her what she wants to be when she grows up.
She gets real quiet and looks at me with her eyes full of tears and that big puckered lip and says " I don't want to grow up mommy because then I won't be here with you" and starts to CRY.... I mean really cry...Oh my heart FELL APART!!!
Ohh I LOST it... water works like you've never seen... It was a bit ridiculous but ohh! my little girl!!
I grabbed her, hugged her and said "you will NEVER not be with me sweetie, you can live with me forever.."
See, this is the reason I started this blog, I don't ever want to forget that moment!!!
or for her to forget it because I will show this to her the day she tries to tell me she is moving out... but that is waaaaaaayy far away
ahh hemm
sniffle

Getting ready for that Bunny..
These are the guys that made it safe and sound..
We had a few cracks, some stained hands and clothes, 2 decent spills and a now partially blue tinted patio floor. I have to give it to Damian though....good call on doing it outside... I wasn't thinking that clearly at 6pm
These are the days... the traditions you make as a family are so special! The kids think the littlest things are so spectacular! Makena didn't stop asking when we were going to dye the eggs and now she won't stop eating them.. kinda yuck, right??

Treasures.
Makena loves to collect. At one time it was pine cones, for awhile it was rocks, at school she finds little sequins and beads in the sand on the playground. She calls them "treasures".
On our daily walks she finds all sorts of pretty things, she hands them to me and when we get home we empty out my pockets...
These were todays "treasures."

For the love of Legwarmers..
Ohh boy! These legwarmers Chloe has worn for 2 days straight and WILL NOT take them off. She wore them all day, almost bathed in them (I came real close to putting her in the bath wearing them because she was THAT mad at the fact I was trying to take them off ..)
no I'm serious, M-A-D...
she then slept in them..
and wore them again today..
ALL DAY..
